Demand for foreign cash in Ukraine dropped significantly in April and May Journal Staff Report
Net demand for foreign cash currency in Ukraine dropped significantly in April and May, mainly due to waning public interest in the U.S. dollar, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Yuriy Heletiy said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday. "Regarding the situation in Ukraine as a whole, we have observed a decline in demand for cash currency over the past few months," Heletiy explained.
