Ukraine plans to boost grain oilseed production to accelerate exports Journal Staff Report
Ukraine plans to grow several times more grains and oilseeds than domestic demand, remaining a major exporter and influencing international prices, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky said on air at the Unified National Telethon. "About 20% of Ukrainian agricultural lands are under occupation. Therefore, Ukraine will not be able to use its entire agricultural potential. However, about 20 million hectares of land are used for growing grains and oilseeds, of which about 13 million hectares will be allocated for spring crops," he said.
