KIEV, Oct. 19 ??“ Ukraine will seek to obtain a full membership in NATO as a way of protecting democratic values and investments in the economy from any external threat, President Viktor Yushchenko said Wednesday.

Yushchenko and the country??™s other key decision makers, from the defense minister to National Bank of Ukraine governor, have been meeting NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and other officials in Kiev.
