Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Oct. 2 - The Ukrainian government is in talks with Viktor Pinchuk, the son-in-law of former President Leonid Kuchma, to settle ownership dispute over Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov said Sunday.

Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko persistently pushed for returning a bare majority stake in NFP to the state, while Pinchuk had staged a vigorous campaign to prevent the takeover.
