KIEV, Sept. 19 ??“ President Viktor Yushchenko Monday met former Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, a bitter rival at the last year??™s contested presidential election, seeking to secure support from lawmakers to approve his designate prime minister.

Yuriy Yekhanurov, who Yushchenko wants to see as the new prime minister, will have to secure support from at least 226 lawmakers in 450-seat Parliament on Tuesday to be officially approved on the job.
