KIEV, Oct. 28 – The Ukrainian Agribusiness Club has called on Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to sign law No. 8521 on amendments to the Tax Code, as the value added tax refunds restored by the law will allow farmers to obtain income to finance the future harvest.
The group says that this would reduce the number of intermediaries on the market and promote the more civilized functioning of the grain market.
"The position of traders, in particular, expressed in an address of the American Chamber of Commerce, is unclear for farmers. The normal functioning of the market with regard to VAT refunding should be developed, but not at the expense of the grain producers, as if there were no economic stimulus for production, no exports would exist," said Ukrainian Agribusiness Club President Alex Lissitsa.
