KIEV, Sept. 6 - President Viktor Yushchenko held a crisis meeting with top government and security officials Tuesday scrambling to repair political damage triggered by recent allegations of high-level corruption in his team.

The only tangible result of the meeting was decision to accelerate creation of the National Bureau of Investigations, or NBI, an agency that will specifically fight corruption among senior officials.
