KIEV, Aug. 10 ??“ Ukraine??™s newly created government team for upcoming natural gas talks with Russia is a measure of last resort to avoid possible gas shortages, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Wednesday.

Ukraine is currently awaiting a response from Russia to confirm that the talks will take place as had been preliminarily agreed on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15, Tymoshenko said.
