Most banks violate insider transaction restrictions, NBU reports
KIEV, Nov. 16 – Over half of the banks inspected by the National Bank of Ukraine violate restrictions on transactions with affiliated persons.
"The regulator inspected these transactions at 58 banks as of November 1, 2016. The study showed that 27 banks carry out transactions with affiliated person observing the regulator's requirements," the NBU said. |
Foreign Direct Investment reported up by 6.2% so far this year
KIEV, Nov. 16 - Foreign direct investment in Ukraine in the form of shareholder capital totaled $45.152 billion as of October 1, 2016, $2.62 billion or 6.2% up compared to the start of the year, the State Statistics Service reported on Tuesday.
Nonresidents increased investment in Ukraine by $3.8 billion in January-September 2016 and withdrew $460 million, with the negative exchange rate difference being $660 million. |
Cyber police shut FS.TO pirate service on copyright complaints
KIEV, Nov. 16 – The officers of the cyber police department of the National Police of Ukraine have terminated activities of a group of pirate online movie theatres, in particular FS.TO, after receiving claims from copyright holders – members of the Motion Picture Association of America and some Ukrainian copyright holders on violation of copyright and associated rights by one of the websites. |
China's CNBM alleges discrimination in government fee-in tariff refund
KIEV, Nov. 16 – Attempts to discriminate against China's CNBM in the issues of the feed-in tariff are linked to tough fight of energy market players, Director General of China's CNBM New Energy Engineering Co., Ltd. Yongzhi Chen said, commenting on the refusal to compensate the loss from the decreased tariffs to the company, while other market players received this compensation. |
EnergoAtom to tap Bank of America and Merrill Lynch for $250 million
KIEV, Nov. 13 – National Nuclear Generating Company EnergoAtom plans to raise loans of $250 million from Bank of America and Merrill Lynch as part of the project to create a centralized waste nuclear fuel storage facility, EnergoAtom President Yuriy Nedashkovsky told reporters on Friday. |
