Kiev commercial construction to pick up in H2, says trade group

KIEV, July 17 – No trade centers were commissioned in Kiev in the first half of 2012, while seven trade centers with a rent area of 230,834 square meters are to open in the capital in H2, according to the Ukrainian Trade Guild.


Industrial production down 1.4% last month, government reports

KIEV, July 17 – Industrial production in Ukraine fell by 1.4% in June versus June 2011, bringing the industrial production growth in six month of 2012 to 0.4% from 0.7% in January-May 2012, the State Statistics Service reported on Tuesday.

Ukraine plans to boost electricity generation 1.3% next year

KIEV, July 15 – Ukraine in 2012 is planning to increase electricity generation by 1.3% or by 2.6 billion kilowatt hours compared to the forecasted indicator for 2011 – from 197.5 billion kilowatt hours to 200.1 billion kilowatt hours, according to a draft state program on the social and economic development of Ukraine for 2012 presented at a meeting in the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry on Thursday.

KIEV, July 15 - Ukraine increased electricity exports by 17.3% or by 365.5 million kilowatt-hours in H1, to 2.473 billion kilowatt-hours, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported.
