Ukraine's money supply narrowed 3.5% in October, according to NBU

KIEV, Nov. 14 – Money supply in Ukraine in October narrowed by 3.5% (since the start of the year it has grown by 5.5%), to UAH 959.3 billion, monetary base decreased by 5.4% (from the beginning of the year has increased by 8.3%), to UAH 991.9 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.


Centrenergo to buy 509,000 tons of Russian coal at $80 per ton

KIEV, Nov. 13 – Centrenergo energy generating company reported it has struck contracts to buy 509,000 tons of Russian coal at a price of $80 per ton (without transportation costs) by the end of the current year in connection with the coal deficit of A- and T-grade coal in Ukraine.


Gazprom contract rider provides for daily supply, portal reports

KIEV, Nov. 13 - Additional agreement No. 33 to the contract for the supply of natural gas between Naftogaz Ukrayiny and Gazprom (Russia), signed in Brussels on October 30, foresees the possibility of supplying up to 114 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas per day, according to the ZN.UA portal, which cites the document.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny reports progress on western Egyptian project

KIEV, Nov. 13 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny from the moment of launching a first phase of the gas pipeline and finishing the development of fields on the territory of Alam El Shawish East in the Western Desert in Egypt has brought daily production to 300,000 cubic meters a day.


NBU increases discount rate from 12.5% to 14% effective Nov. 13

KIEV, Nov. 13 – The National Bank of Ukraine has increased its discount rate from 12.5% to 14% effective November 13.

"The NBU board passed resolution No. 719 of November 12, 2014 on the regulation of the monetary and credit market, which foresees setting a 14% discount rate from November 13, 2014," reads the report.


DTEK may challenge lawfulness of obligatory Naftogaz purchases

KIEV, Nov. 14 – DTEK Director General Maksym Tymchenko says that the holding could file a claim against the lawfulness of the cabinet resolution on the obligatory purchase of gas by 90 industrial enterprises from national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy.
