Monopoly regulator clears way for Time Warner buy of CME stake

KIEV, May 15 - Time Warner Inc. has received a permit from the Antimonopoly Committee to buy over 25% of shares in Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CME, Bermudan Islands), which controls 1+1 and Kino TV channels in Ukraine.

The AMC posted the information on its Web site on Thursday.


Net inflow of foreign direct investment down 75% from last year

KIEV, May 18 – The net inflow of foreign direct investment into Ukraine in the first quarter was estimated at $820 million, 24.4% of the amount of FDI registered in the first quarter of 2008, the State Statistics Committee reported.
