Ukraine’s wheat harvest amounts to 22-mln mt in 2024-2025 marketing season

KYIV, Sept 18 – The wheat harvest in Ukraine in 2024 amounted to 22 million tons, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food agreed with producers and traders that exports will not exceed 16.2 million tons, which guarantees the availability of 6 million tons of this crop necessary for domestic consumption.


DTEK to use own funds to prepare for winter as $40-mln aid comes late

Investment in Ukraine’s 54.6 MW Skole Wind Farm top UAH 2.1-bln: UWEA

KYIV, Sept 19 – Investments in the 54.6 MW Skole Wind Farm (Orovska LLC) in Lviv region, whose official presentation took place on Wednesday, amounted to approximately UAH 2.1 billion, according to Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA).


NBU to keep key policy rate at 13%, but some loans will have lower interest

KYIV, Sept 19 – The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has decided to keep its key policy rate at 13%, but from September 20, 2024, interest rates on three-month certificates of deposit and interest rates on refinancing loans will be decreased by 0.5 percentage points (p.p.) and 1 p.p., respectively.


Ukraine’s economy contracts 2.1% on year in August amid grain issues

KYIV, Sept 19 – Real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in August 2024 year-over-year decreased for the first time since March 2023, a decrease of 2.1%, while in July an increase of 4.4% was recorded, according to the assessment of the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER).

KYIV, Sept 21 – The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians (82%) have noticed an improvement in the condition of roads and an increase in their repair over the past year, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Sociological Group Rating on September 10-13.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny denies reports of low natural gas extraction costs

KYIV, Sept 21 – The statement that the cost of natural gas production by the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz Ukrayiny is allegedly UAH 1 per cubic meter, which a member of the board, Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) Otto Waterlander said in an interview with the Economic Pravda publication, is not true, Naftogaz has said.
