Ukraine and United states to open ICBM disposal plant in Pavlohrad

KIEV, March 22 - Ukraine and the United States are preparing to open this May a plant for the disposal of solid rocket fuel and empty engine casings of intercontinental ballistic missiles at the Pavlohrad Chemical Plant (Dnipropetrovsk region), which is one of the key facilities under the program for the disposal of solid rocket fuel of the SS-24 intercontinental ballistic missiles.


Donors have provided EUR18m for mélange disposal, government reports

Yanukovych orders govt to lower Zaporizhia Ferroalloy power rates

KIEV, March 23 - President Viktor Yanukovych ordered the government to come up with a way to lower power tariffs for Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant (ZFP) in an attempt to prevent its shutdown next month.

ZFP warned earlier this month its operation was unprofitable and the company may shut down its operation in April unless power tariffs are lowered.


EU energy commissioner predicts fast action on GTS modernization

BRUSSELS, March 23 – EU Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger believes that the international financial institutions will be able to make a decision about investing in the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, with the first project coming in June or July.
