Avlita stevedoring company to build cargo complex in Sevastopol

KIEV, Aug. 26 – Avlita stevedoring company is going to build a universal bulk cargo-handling complex in Sevastopol, including for handling coal.

The company's acting director general, Oleksandr Lahosha, told Interfax-Ukraine that the estimated annual capacity of the complex is 8.5 million tons, including 4 million tons of coal and 4.5 million tons of sand and crushed stone. The complex would handle vessels with tonnage of up to 140,000 tons and water draft of up to 16.5 meters (Cape Size).


Refinery output will be hit by rail tariff rise, says TNK-BP official

KIEV, Aug. 26 – A decree of the Transport and Communications Ministry increasing tariffs on railway cargo transshipments could lead to a stoppage of Ukrainian oil refineries, Dmytro Zverev, deputy director general of TNK-BP Commerce Ltd., told Interfax-Ukraine.


Kiev economic court to proceed with ZALK de-privatization case

DTEK companies increase coal extraction by 1.1% in first half

KIEV, Aug. 23 – Companies of Donetsk-based Donbas Fuel-Energy Company (DTEK) report they increased coal extraction by 1.1% in H1 or by 79,600 tons year-on-year, to 7.59 million tons.


Shell, Alliance group establish JV to set up retail network

Ukraine acquires 100% of shares in major Sense Bank: Finance Ministry

KYIV, July 24 – The Ministry of Finance and the Deposit Guarantee Fund (DGF) on Saturday (July 22) signed a contract for the sale of 100% of the shares of the systemically important Sense Bank JSC (Kyiv, formerly Alfa-Bank) for UAH 1, according to which the bank becomes the property of the state.


Ryanair may resume some flights to Ukraine by year’s end: CEO

KYIV, July 24 – Ireland's Ryanair, Europe's largest low-cost airline, is considering resuming a small number of flights to Ukraine before the end of this year, subject to successful negotiations by Ukraine on the partial opening of airspace, the executive director of the airline, Michael O'Leary, said.


Canada’s Fairfax Financial boosts stake in Ukrainian ag holding Ovostar

KYIV, July 25 – The international insurance group Fairfax Financial Holdings (Canada) has increased its stake in the Ukrainian agricultural holding Ovostar (Ovostar Union) to 17.499% from 10.39%, the company announced on the Warsaw Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
