Ukraine’s ban on sale of farming land violates human rights Journal Staff Report
KYIV, May 22 – The permanent extension in Ukraine of a moratorium on the sale of agricultural land violates human rights, according to a judgment issued by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on the basis of complaints from two Ukrainian citizens who received small land plots in 2000 and 2004. "No other Council of Europe state had such a blanket ban," the court judgment said.
