Ukraine's thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants in January-July 2015 reduced coal consumption by 25.6% compared to the same period in 2014, to 16.221 million tons. According to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, in July 2015 coal consumption by the plants fell by 25% compared to July 2014, to 2.433 million tons. Ukraine's thermal power plants and combined heat and power plant in 2014 reduced coal consumption by 16.4%, to 31.562 million tons.
