Gen. Zaluzhny emerges as leader in public trust, KIIS opinion poll shows

KYIV, Feb 15 – Some 94% of respondents expressed confidence in former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valeriy Zaluzhny, 66% said they trust Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov (the index has increased from 60% in December 2023), and 64% of those polled said they trust President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy (against 77% in December 2023).

Ukraine’s reconstruction may cost $486-bln over 10 years

KYIV, Feb 15 – The estimates of the total cost of reconstruction and recovery in Ukraine as of December 31, 2023 is $486 billion over the next decade, according to the updated Rapid Damage and Reconstruction Needs Assessment (RDNA3) released by the Government of Ukraine, the World Bank Group, the European Commission and the United Nations in Thursday.

Ukraine’s imports of goods up 6.3% on year in January 2024

KYIV, Feb 15 – Imports of goods to Ukraine in January 2024 increased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year – from $4.8 billion to $5.1 billion, while exports – by 9.7%, from $3.1 billion to $3.4 billion, the State Customs Service reported on Friday.

According to published information, in January 2024, trade turnover amounted to $8.5 billion, which is 7% more than the same period in 2023, and the negative balance of trade in goods, despite the rapid growth of exports, remained at $1.7 billion.

Ukraine’s economic growth seen slowing to 4% in 2024 from 6% in 2023

KYIV, Feb 14 – The growth of Ukraine's gross domestic product in 2024 will slow to approximately 4% from almost 6% in 2023, with inflation increasing to 8% from 5.1% last year, and the rate at the end of the year will be UAH 39/$1, such forecasts were announced by the head and founder of the investment company Dragon Capital, Tomas Fiala.
