KIEV, Dec. 3 – President Viktor Yushchenko on Thursday suggested holding consultations with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and opposition leaders to agree on amendments that would minimize fraud at the next presidential election.
Yushchenko made the call in a letter to Parliamentary Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn after lawmakers had rejected his amendments on Wednesday, leaving intact legislation that was criticized by the Constitutional Court and European legal experts.
