KIEV, Nov. 18 – One third of the Ukrainian banking sector is on the verge of bankruptcy, but the development of industry could rescue it, according to presidential candidate Arseniy Yatseniuk.
"I'll give you a worrying forecast: Today, 30% of the banking system is on the verge of bankruptcy. Is industry working? It's not. If we don't have production, how do we return credits? We cannot return credits, so we cannot return deposits. [And if] we cannot return deposits, we don't have consumption," he said at a meeting with employees of Hodak Company in Cherkasy, his press service has reported.
