KIEV, Oct. 23 - The government of Tatarstan and Tatneft company officials believe that the Ukrainian authorities have not taken decisive measures to restrain the actions of former UkrTatNafta CEO Pavlo Ovcharenko, which are considered by the company's Tartar shareholders as a corporate raid.
"Tatarstan's cabinet of ministers and Tatneft consider the situation at UkrTatNafta, which threatens the company with both a technological and financial crisis, as an unprecedented abuse of power while the Ukrainian authorities' inaction in this situation as unexplainable. UkrTatNafta's commodity flow, bank accounts and production capacity are today in the hands of a raider and con man," said a Tatneft statement.
