KIEV, March 19 ??“ Intesa SanPaolo??™s $1.3 billion purchase of one of Ukraine's biggest banks is at risk amid regulatory delays and a possible need to renegotiate the terms of the deal, the Financial Times reported Monday.
Banca Intesa, one of Italy's largest banks, announced the acquisition of Ukrsotsbank in February last year, before its merger with SanPaolo IMI. But the deal's completion was first held up by a legal dispute and a lack of clearance from Ukraine's central bank.
