KIEV, Feb. 28 ??“ The currency exchange rate band of UAH 4.95-5.25/$1 for 2007, should not be changed, said Petro Poroshenko, who was recently elected as the chairman of the council at the National Bank of Ukraine.

"Today I don't see any grounds to increase or to cut the currency range,??? Poroshenko said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper. ???I believe that the NBU is conducting a clear exchange rate policy. The NBU has every opportunity to retain the approximate exchange rate foreseen in the budget (UAH 5.1/$1)."
