KIEV, Oct. 10 - The government plans to increase state subsidies to the coal industry by 14.4% to UAH5.8 billion in 2007, compared with UAH5.07 billion in 2006, the finance ministry said Tuesday.

The government plans to spend UAH1.85 billion for subsidizing the price of the produced coal and UAH1.74 billion for upgrading and re-equipment of mining facilities.
