Kyiv city deploys more hospitals beds as COVID-19 cases grow in Ukraine

KYIV, Oct 13 – In Kyiv, almost 2,800 beds in 22 hospitals have been deployed to treat patients with coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, showing a video of the check on how city hospital No. 18 is being prepared to receive patients with COVID-19.

"We continue to increase the number of beds for the treatment of coronavirus patients in the capital's municipal medical facilities. We are doing everything to provide hospitals and medical workers with everything they need. We have already deployed 2,730 beds in 22 metropolitan hospitals. Of these, 17 hospitals are already receiving and treating patients with the virus. Others are completing the arrangement of departments for admitting such patients. Yesterday I visited city clinical hospital No. 18, which we are preparing to receive patients with coronavirus," Klitschko said during an online press conference on Tuesday.
