KYIV, Oct 7 – Natural gas supplies to Ukraine in January-September increased 28% (by 3.2 billion cubic meters) compared to the same period in 2019 to 14.8 billion cubic meters (bcm).
According to the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU), 9.7 bcm of gas were received from Slovakia in the first nine months (a rise of 33% versus January-September-2019), 3.7 bcm from Hungary (a rise of 14%), 1.5 bcm from Poland (a rise of 33%). At the same time, 3.1 bcm, 2.8 bcm and 1 bcm from Slovakia, Hungary and Poland were imported as virtual reverse flow (backhaul), which became available from the beginning of 2020.
