BRUSSELS, Sept. 14 - The European Union is ready to finance joint projects with Ukraine in the energy sector, according to a memorandum signed by Ukrainian and EU officials.

The memorandum places special focus on EU-Ukrainian relations in the energy area, in particular in order to make energy deliveries more secure and to assist in the gradual integration of Ukraine's energy sector to the EU energy market.
