KYIV, Aug 4 – An increase in prices for a number of fruit and berry crops is being observed in Ukraine, while in the vegetable segment, on the contrary, a decrease in prices for the main items is recorded, which is due to the fact that the vegetable harvesting season is gaining momentum, Ukrainian Horticultural Association reported.
"The deterrent and sometimes even lowering price factor in the Ukrainian potato market at the moment is the low quality of the main volumes of products due to bad weather conditions in the production regions of the country. Given these problems, Ukrainian producers now have to sell potatoes in the price range of UAH 5.59-6.98 per kg," the director for development of the Ukrainian Horticultural Association, Kateryna Zvereva, told the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
