KIEV, Sept. 5 ??“ Former Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov may soon be appointed as top national security advisor to President Viktor Yushchenko, a newspaper reported Tuesday citing a source at the Yushchenko office.

The appointment of Yushchenko??™s long time ally is seen as an attempt to counterbalance increasing political clout of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, who now has total control over the country??™s economic policy.
