KYIV, April 7 – Ukraine's GDP could contract by 5.9% in 2020 after growth by 3.2% last year, according to a macroeconomic forecast presented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting.
According to the forecast, the national currency exchange rate in 2020 would be UAH 29.70/$1 on average and UAH 29/$1 at the end of the year.
"Consumer inflation is forecasted to accelerate only to 7.5% year-over-year in December as weak demand will limit the impact of higher inflation expectations and weaker hryvnia," the institute said.
