KYIV, April 3 – The Ukrainian Energy Assembly has dismissed complaints from Interpipe, the largest steel pipe producer, that the company has been forced to pay high tariffs for power supplies.
"On the details the review will show that prior to the introduction of the retail electricity market on January 1, 2019, prices for first-class consumers of Dnipropetrovsk region were UAH 1.64 per kWh on December 2018. That is, the price of electricity reached the level of 2018 only at the end of March 2020 for Interpipe plants, and before that it was much lower," the assembly said on Thursday, April 2.
The assembly said that the company's arguments are manipulative, in particular, the last week of March and February, the chosen period for comparison.
