KYIV, April 3 – Ukraine’s air pollution dropped for the first time in over a decade after coronavirus quarantine measures shut down most of the steel and mining sector, the country’s biggest polluters, a government study showed.
The steelmakers, such as ArcelorMittal Kryvy Rih, were forced to reduce steel output responding to the collapsing global demand after the coronavirus outbreak, which spread around the world since January.
