KYIV, Feb 21 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) as part of a pilot project in 2018 issued little more than UAH 5,000 of electronic hryvnia (e-hryvnia), and at present the central bank continues studying the possibility of issuing e-hryvnia in the future, NBU Governor Yakiv Smolii said Friday.
"We will be ready to return to this matter when we are convinced that not only can it be technologically feasible, but also that it will not interfere with the pursuit of our mandate as a central bank, which is to ensure price and financial stability," he said.
