KYIV, Feb 18 – The Elektrostal steel smelting enterprise in January 2020 mainly continued to stay idle due to shortage of raw materials, producing only 3,000 tons of continuous cast steel billets.

Kurakhove, Donetsk region-based Elektrostal said in January 2019, the plant was completely idle and did not produce products.

In this regard, the company's representative reminded that in 2019, from January to mid-March, the enterprise was completely idle and partially resumed operation from mid-March, after which it worked at a third of capacity or less. In September, the enterprise smelted 1,000 tons of billets and again stopped due to an unfavorable situation in the metal products markets. In October, the enterprise was idle and did not produce products. There were produced 3,000 tons in November and 7,000 tons in December.
