KYIV, Feb 17 – The share of shadow economy in Ukraine in 2018 was estimated at 23.8% of GDP, or UAH 846 billion, according to preliminary results of an Ernst & Young study supported by Mastercard, published by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
"According to the study of the Ukrainian economy, UAH 846 billion, or 23.8% of official GDP for 2018, is in the shadow, in particular 19.7% of GDP (UAH 702 billion) is the shadow cash economy, 4.1% of GDP (UAH 144 billion) is home production of goods for own final use, that is, a non-monetary shadow economy," the NBU said.
