KYIV, Feb 12 – Ukraine will reduce pressure on its highway system by redirecting some cargo shipments by trucks to shipments by boats via rivers and waterways, Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy said.

"This year we are starting to ease pressure on roads: we are sending cargos to other modes of transport. One million tons of cargo carried by river reduces the cost of road repairs by UAH 1 billion over four years," he said.
