KYIV, Jan 3 – On January 1-2, 2020, in certain hours of the off-peak period power surplus amounted to more than 3,000 MW at an average daily air temperature of +1.3°C, national energy company Ukrenergo has reported.

"The main reasons are the overall decrease in consumption due to the unusually high average air temperature for this time of the year, as well as the fact that market participants purchase volumes of electricity that significantly exceed the level of their actual consumption," the company said on Friday.
