KYIV, Dec 10 – Norway's Scatec Solar has suspended a project to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 65 MW in Kherson region over the possible reduction of the terms of preliminary power purchase agreements (pre-PPA), Scatec Solar Manager for Business Development in Ukraine Alina Sviderska told Interfax-Ukraine after a meeting of the Fuel & Energy Committee of the European Business Association (EBA).
"The company invested from EUR 2 to EUR 3 million in this project, and it is now completely stopped," she said.
As Sviderska said, if the amendments to the legislation currently under consideration regarding the development of alternative energy are adopted, in particular, the duration of pre-PPA is reduced, the company will not have time to complete the project.
