KYIV, Nov 27 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is completing the switch to the updated hryvnia banknotes and coins, which are more secure and better protected from counterfeiting.

Viktor Zaivenko, the director of the money circulation department of the NBU, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday that the 5-hryvnia coins and updated the 50-hryvnia banknotes will be into circulation on December 20, 2019.

The updated 200-hryvnia banknote will appear on February 25, 2029 and the 10-hryvnia coins in the middle of 2020.
