KYIV, Oct. 9 - Ukraine would seek to get a new deal on Russian natural gas transit that complies with European regulations instead of simply extending the current transit agreement, Naftogaz chief Andriy Kobolev said Wednesday.

The 10-year gas transit agreement is set to expire on December 31 and the parties have to negotiate and sign agreement that would prevent potential supply disruptions.
