KYIV, Sept 11 – The adoption of bill No. 1210 amending the Tax Code of Ukraine dated August 30 foresees growth of the excise duty on cigarettes by 2.5 times, which would result in 2.5-3-fold growth of prices, to UAH 80-100 per package of cigarettes from January 1, 2020, Corporate Affairs at Director Philip Morris Ukraine Nataliya Bondarenko said.

"As a result, the widening of the price gap with neighboring countries and the low purchasing power of citizens can lead to a sharp increase in the level of smuggling," she told Interfax-Ukraine.
