KYIV, Aug 21 – Power consumption in Ukraine in January-July decreased by 0.4% over the same period of 2018 to 88.16 billion kWh, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine.
Excluding in-process consumption, electric power consumption for this period increased by 0.01%, to 70.932 billion kWh.
The industry of the country excluding in-process losses cut electricity consumption by 0.9%, to 29.948 billion kWh. In particular, metallurgical industry consumed 17.153 billion kWh (0.9% less than from January-July 2018), fuel some 1.996 billion kWh (3.3% less), machine building some 2.211 billion kWh (7.9% less), chemical and petrochemical some 1.987 billion kWh (8.2% more), food and processing some 2.561 billion kWh (1.9% more), construction materials some 1.261 billion kWh (1.1% less), others some 2.781 billion kWh (1.9% less).
