KYIV, May 23 – Ukraine jointly with Georgia are preparing an address to the European Commission with a proposal to financially support the development of the shipping service between ports of Ukraine and the Black Sea region countries. The respective decision was made at ministerial conference in Bucharest (Romania) on May 21.
According to a report published on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure on Wednesday, during the meeting representatives of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Turkey and Croatia identified the main cooperation priorities for the development of the Black Sea region. Among them, in particular: the development of container-feeder traffic between the ports of Poti/Batumi - Odesa - Constanta, as well as the organization of piggyback traffic in the direction of Asia - Caspian Sea - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Black Sea - Romania/Ukraine and back.
