KYIV, May 22 – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the decision according to which the separation of the gas transportation system (GTS) will be implemented according to the ownership unbundling (OU) model, the press service of Trunk Gas Pipelines of Ukraine reported.

The corresponding decision on amending government resolution No. 496 was made at a cabinet meeting on May 22.

"The long-awaited decision provides an opportunity to really begin fulfilling Ukraine's external obligations to the EU and, most importantly, obligations to create a liberalized natural gas market to end users, industry and market participants," according to a press release.
