KYIV, April 15 – An attempt of privatization of PrivatBank, which was bailed out and nationalized in 2016, could result in new crisis, according to President Petro Poroshenko.
"The sudden steps regarding the bank will create certain threats for its numerous clients. The decision in favor of the former owner will be a powerful blow to cooperation with the International Monetary Fund... the reverse steps regarding the nationalization of PrivatBank will cause a big crisis in relations with the IMF with corresponding risks for macroeconomic stability and the exchange rate and could entail a new crisis," Poroshenko said at a meeting with business representatives in Kyiv on Monday.
