KYIV, March 18 – Comedian Volodymyr Zelensky, the front-runner in presidential election, said he has a "good solution" to fix the country's television market, where key channels are owned by oligarchs who have the ability to influence their news policy.
"We have got five oligarchs who own five groups of television channels, and we can't do anything about it. Although we have a good decision how to turn them all into portfolio investors so that they have no impact on the news policy. They should make profit from the channels," he said at a meeting with senior officials of the European Business Association (EBA), the American Chamber of Commerce and the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP) in Kyiv on Monday.
