KYIV, March 13 – The Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2018 received 50 units of the BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle purchased under a government defense contract from European Union partners, the state foreign trade enterprise Spetstechnoexport has said.
"The delivered BMP-1s had never been in use before but been stored at the facilities of the licensed EU enterprises. In 2017-2018 the BMP-1s underwent full refurbishment, with the replacement of all necessary parts and units, in accordance with the technical standards for EU repairing plants," the company's press service said on Wednesday.
