KYIV, March 7 – ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine’s largest steel mill, plans to increase iron ore extraction by 8.6% in 2019 compared to last year, to 25.2 million tons from 23.2 million tons.
According to a press release of the company, the production of iron ore concentrate in the current year is planned at the level of 10.3 million tons, which is 10.5% more than the 2018 level.
It is also specified that 23.2 million tons of ore were mined in 2018, some 21.92 million tons in 2017, and 9.32 million tons of iron ore concentrate was produced in 2018 and 9.1 million tons in 2017.
