KIEV, July 11 ??“ Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the largest pro-Western group in Parliament, said Tuesday her party will join forces with Our Ukraine, President Viktor Yushchenko??™s party, in the event of early election.

Tymoshenko??™s remark echoes the idea that has been recently suggested by Our Ukraine in order to create a single pro-Western bloc capable of defeating the Regions Party, a pro-Russian group.

???If there will be the early election, unconditionally, our group will take part in it in a complete alliance with Our Ukraine,??? Tymoshenko said Tuesday. ???We should come [to the election] and get additional power from the people.???

Tymoshenko has been meeting Yushchenko Monday apparently to discuss the idea of early election after the Socialist Party, reversing its campaign promises, joined forces with the Regions Party to create the pro-Russian coalition.

The coalition, which includes the Regions party, the Socialist Party and the Communist Party, controls 238 lawmakers in the 450-seat Parliament. The Tymoshenko group and Our Ukraine jointly control 210 seats.
