KYIV, Jan 22 – The free trade area (FTA) agreement between Ukraine and Israel has the balance of trade interests of the two countries, Partner, Head of International Trade Practice at Ilyashev & Partners Olena Omelchenko said.
"Judging by the structure of trade between our countries, the balance of interests will be observed. Ukraine is interested in Israel in the context of trade. In the case of Turkey, the situation is slightly different: Ukrainian and Turkish goods compete in foreign markets and if the domestic market opens, competition will increase. It is difficult to negotiate with the Turks: where they are interested in opening the Ukrainian market, we are not ready to open - and on the contrary. Therefore, unlike Israel, the negotiations with Turkey are taking so long," she told Interfax-Ukraine.
